LEKTRO, Inc.the official towing vehicle of the NBAA, celebrates 20 years setting static displays
LEKTRO, Inc., manufacturers of towbarless electric aircraft towing vehicles, is celebrating 20 years of assisting the National Business Aviation Association with the set up and dismantling of aircraft static displays at the association’s trade shows. The first such help was provided in 1986 when the company sent two tugs to the NBAA convention static display in Long Beach, California. Over the years, the number of LEKTROs involved in the process has grown and LEKTRO has acquired partners such as Showalter Corporation, which brings manpower and their extensive knowledge of FBO operations to the process.
This year, as many as 10 towbarless tugs will be sent from the company’s factory in Warrenton, Oregon to the NBAA 59th Annual Meeting & Convention October 17–19, 2006 in Orlando, Florida.
LEKTRO manufactures nine models of towbarless aircraft tugs, ranging in capacity from 28,000 to 180,000 lb. Since inventing the towbarless concept in 1967, LEKTRO has remained the world’s leading manufacturer of towbarless aircraft towing vehicles. As a testament to the safety and reliability of LEKTRO vehicles, you can find them in operation on every continent around the globe.
